The cat is out of the bag… we can finally, and very excitedly, announce we have been awarded Pledge Pioneer status in the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge by HouseProud-LGBT and Stonewall Housing.
This award celebrates our commitment to supporting LGBTQ+ customers and colleagues, making sure everyone feels safe, secure and able to be themselves in their homes and communities.
This recognition is also a reflection of the hard work and incredible support from our Pride Network, colleagues, group sponsors and partners who continue to champion diversity and inclusion. We’re all committed to making sure everyone has a safe place to call home and work.
Some of the work produced by the group was used as good practice examples including the Embrace the Lace campaign, the Proud to Be Me campaign and the continuing work with customer engagement, including one of our LGTBQ customers who is now on board the assessment panel for the LGBTQ+ Housing Pledge.
Our colleagues from our Pride networking group were invited to the LGBTQ+ Housing Awards in London to receive the Pledge award.
Chair of the group and Business Engagement Officer, Jonathan Hill, Vice Chair and Solutions Architect, Rick Collins, and group members, PR and Communications Officer, Lindsey Hanson, and Homesearch Manager, Matthew Owens, collected the award.
Jonathan said: “We are over the moon at gaining the Pioneer status, it means a lot to the group and for Vico Homes as a whole. It shows our continuing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion. We were confident we could put a portfolio of work together and showcase the wonderful work we are already doing. Our Pride group is passionate about making the places we work, and the places our customers live, safe, supportive and welcoming. We are already looking forward now to how we can build on this achievement towards Pioneer Plus.”
