As West Yorkshire's largest social housing provider, we've a big role to play in reducing carbon and emissions in the environment.
Our Sustainability Plan to 2030 sets out our ambitions and actions, and our key approach to manage risks associated with climate change and the natural environment as well as having a positive impact on the communities where we operate.
We aim to reduce our operational footprint by 28% by 2030, with a target in between to achieve a 15% reduction by 2028.
Making your homes warmer and more efficient
Making our existing homes sustainable is important for the environment and for keeping our customers warm, reducing energy bills, easing energy price rises and creating homes fit for the future.
We'll deliver thousands of measures to reach our target of upto 75% of our homes at energy rating C or above by 2028, and 100% by 2030, where possible.
We'll be trialing new technology, such as battery storage, with a push on joining in trials to support further sustainability of homes.
Helping you save energy
Working with Groundwork Green Doctors, we offer customers a free energy-saving service. A visit from the Green Doctor can help customers save money and keep their homes warm.

Bloomin’ ‘eck! Our customers and communities are helping shape our greenspaces as part of our revamped sustainability plan. We love to see everyone getting on board to make our communities as biodiverse as possible.
One great example is our Wildlife champions, young people from Kettlethorpe High School who are our pioneers in supporting our wild grass areas. We asked them to come up with some ideas of how we can promote our campaign to help wildlife to thrive in our area and they visited us to showcase them in a Dragons’ Den style event.
