Our Vico Executive Team (VET) is made up of people who are experts in their field, passionate about putting our customers first and creating confident communities. VET is responsible for directing Vico Homes within the boundaries agreed by the Board.

Martyn Shaw
Chief Executive
Martyn took up the role of Chief Executive in January 2025 after working in the organisation for a decade.
Martyn joined us in 2014 to lead our Technical Services Teams and was then appointed Deputy Chief Executive in 2023.
He is passionate about reducing stigma across the housing sector, providing opportunities for people to develop and build great careers in housing and building vibrant communities where everyone feels they belong.
Martyn has held a variety of non-executive positions on boards which share his values including local colleges and housing organisations.

Neil Warren
Executive Director of Resources
With over 38 years' of experience in local government, Neil joined us in July 2023.
A Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Neil has a Master’s Degree in Finance and Accountancy and was previously Chief Finance Officer at Wakefield Council.
Born in Crofton, Neil is passionate about the area, holding non-executive positions at the Heart of Yorkshire Education Group, the West Yorkshire Integrated Care Board and the Joint Advisory Group for the West Yorkshire Pension Fund.

Sarah Roxby
Executive Director of Customer and Communities
Sarah is passionate about housing and in particular its impact on health. She has worked in the sector for over 30 years, starting her career in Local Government as a Housing Repairs Clerk.
Sarah progressed to work in homelessness and estate management and also worked for a private consultancy writing housing policy and business strategy.
She is passionate about supporting customers and making sure that everyone has access to services and opportunities to better themselves and their circumstances.

Sue Young
Executive Director of Homes and Growth
A member of the Chartered Institute of Housing, Sue has over 25 years’ experience of housing development and regeneration schemes within the public sector, working for Wakefield Council before joining us in 2015 to manage our Legal Team.
Sue is committed to supporting her team and the wider business to make a difference to the places our customers live and driving forward investment that supports the climate change agenda.
She is a qualified Lawyer and has a BA(Hons) Business Studies Degree.

Tracy Tallant
Strategic Director of People and Culture
Tracy leads the People and Culture Team and is responsible for Human Resources; Learning and Development and Health and Safety.
With over 30 years’ experience of working within Human Resources, Tracy is committed to ensuring the employee experience within us is the best it can be and is striving for us to be an Employer of Choice.
Tracy grew up in Wakefield and spent many of her younger years living on our estates.
