    We work in partnership with Yorkshire Water to access funding that's available to help with utility debt. 

    If you're struggling with your water bills, it may be cheaper to install a water meter or you may be eligible to access a social tariff water support if you are on low income.

    If you are outside the Yorkshire area, please find your local water supplier and access information on the support available.

    Household support fund

    Support is available for low-income households to help with the cost of food, water and energy bills. This funding is part of a national initiative and is administered locally.

    If you're experiencing a crisis, support may be available to help with food, heating, furniture or essential white goods.

    Discretionary housing payments

    Discretionary housing payments (DHP) can provide extra help when your Housing Benefit or Universal Credit doesn't fully cover your rent. We can support you with the application process and help gather the necessary evidence. 

    This support is provided by local authorities find out what cost of living help is available in your area or Wakefield Council's DHP page.

    Housing Benefit

    If you're of pension age or live in supported or temporary accommodation, you may still be eligible for Housing Benefit.

    A benefit for working-age customers that can help cover your rent. We can help you: 

    • Make a new claim
    • Update your UC journal 
    • Make sure rent is paid directly to us if needed
