About the role

As the Damp Mould and Condensation (DMC) Technician your manager will be our Business Planning Officer. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area from our Head Office in Castleford.

As the Damp Mould and Condensation (DMC) Technician you will be responsible for using technology, systems, knowledge and experience to deliver positive outcomes for property investment and our customers’ needs in the diagnosis of Damp, Mould and Condensation (DMC). You will be a key member of the Major Works surveying team ensuring the stock is kept in good condition, delivering guidance, advice and scope of works that meets business needs now and in the future.

It is an exciting time to be joining us and here are some of the initiatives that you will be involved in:

  • Development, implementation and review of the DMC process
  • Play a significant role in regulatory compliance of Awaab’s Law
  • Contribute to the DMC service being efficient, effective and offering value for money to its stakeholders

 

What you’ll do
  • Produce scope of works for DMC work in order to effectively deliver on customers’ needs
  • Prioritise work in order to provide relevant information on time and deliver positive outcomes
  • Identify and develop works in line with approved policies, procedures and legislation (Awaab’s Law)
  • Ensure all DMC enquiries are effectively managed within agreed performance levels
  • Utilise specialist knowledge, expertise and experience to evaluate complex and conflicting information, exploring solutions and presenting options and recommendations

 

What we’re looking for
  • Level 3 of the Regulated Qualification Framework, IOSH Managing Safely qualification and Property Care Association (PCA) Technician qualification
  • Knowledge of Awaab’s Law, CDM and Building regulations and Experience diagnosing damp, mould and condensation to find root cause
  • Knowledge and practical experience of using IT as analytical and management tools, effective communication skills and experience in working within a customer focused environment
