About the role
As the Estate Officer (Permissions) your manager will be our Business Planning Officer – Projects. You will work 37 hours a week on either on a permanent basis or fixed term for up to 12 months, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area with our Head Office in Castleford and on site/within our neighbourhood.
As the Estate Officer (Permissions) you will be responsible for supporting customers who wish to make a change to their home through the landlord home improvement process. You will help and support customers to make positive improvements to their homes safely and effectively whilst safeguarding our homes for future customers. Your skills, knowledge and experience will support us to promote vibrant and confident communities throughout our operating area.
It is an exciting time to be joining us and here are some of the initiatives that you will be involved in:
- Developing environmental schemes that meet tenant priorities
- Exploring how to gather feedback from customers on the performance of our contractors for both low rise cleaning and environmental schemes
What you’ll do
You will assist the Business Planning Officers (Projects) to implement the delivery of area based environmental schemes, capital projects and all relevant quality assurance visits within the service area where required, to improve the estate environment for our customers. This could involve sharing ideas, considering customers views and liaising with internal teams and contractors. You will also monitor our low-rise cleaning contract by visiting our sites and carrying out quality checks and record these accurately.
What we’re looking for
- A Level 2 qualification, such as GCSEs (three A – C/9 – 4), Award, Certificate or Diploma at level 2 or equivalent
- Experience working directly with customers to improve their environment in a housing association (or similar) setting
- Confidence - be decisive, make well informed and considered decisions in a timely way
- Caring - be empathetic, treat colleagues, customers and partners with respect and consideration
- Ambitious - be focused, be clear on goals and priorities, focusing on performance and be organised and efficient
