Vico Homes is built on the foundations of WDH. We are looking for a General Labourer to join our Planned Maintenance Team.

A home is more than four walls and a roof. It should be a safe place. A place to start things. A place of opportunities. A place to grow. A place where you feel you belong.

These are the places we provide for today and for the future. This is what marks us out as one of the leading players in the social housing sector. We have over 32,000 homes across the north of England, home to tens of thousands of people. And people are at the centre of what we do.

Our people are approachable and professional. But we’re not afraid to be optimistic and show our passion for what we do to support our customers. We share a common vision, acting confidently to ensure we remain at the forefront of making it happen.

Together, we’re building better futures and vibrant communities.

About the role

We are dedicated to delivering an outstanding service to our customers through our Planned Maintenance team.

Planned Maintenance Team:
Our Planned Maintenance team is all about efficiency and responsiveness. With a focus on high-volume, short duration works. Whether it's completing tasks independently or in small groups, our team ensures safe and effective solutions. We collaborate with skilled tradespeople and utilise a variety of subcontractors to meet customer demands.

What you’ll do
  • Assist tradespeople to complete property maintenance or construction tasks
  • Fulfil driving and logistics duties to ensure materials, equipment and resources are available to tradespeople and sub-contractors
  • Segregate work areas on construction sites with fencing and barriers to ensure the safe delivery of construction tasks
  • Complete groundworks, excavations, demolition and site preparatory work by hand, where mechanical plant cannot be used
  • Ensure good housekeeping, cleanliness and tidiness on the respective work stream / project
  • You will be paired up with Roofers during busier periods so you should be comfortable working on ladders and at heights

What we’re looking for

We are looking for individuals who want to work for a great organisation, enjoy working outside, not afraid to climb a ladder and want to progress within the construction industry. You need to be an energetic, driven and committed individual who can complete work safely whilst meeting operational and customer service performance targets.

For more details on what we’re looking for in this role, please see the Job Description below.
