About the role
As the Waste Management Technician your manager will be our Team Leader. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working at our Trident Park facility in Normanton.
As the Waste Management Technician you will be responsible for on-site waste management in an outdoor environment, ensuring compliance with health and safety, recycling legislation and environmental permit. You will monitor waste segregation, report on all waste management movements, collections and disposals and uphold a high standard of site cleanliness.
What you’ll do
- Help manage and safely dispose of waste on-site, making sure materials are sorted correctly for recycling
- Keep the site clean and tidy and report any hazards or issues
- Guide vehicles safely around the site and support with skip collections, waste transfers and related documentation.
- Support the team with general site duties, promoting recycling initiatives and following all health, safety and environmental rules
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a customer-focused role, with an understanding of waste management, recycling and health and safety practices
- Able to work outdoors for extended periods, lift moderate loads and use tools or equipment
- Reliable, self-motivated team player with good problem-solving skills, timekeeping, and a willingness to undertake any required training
