A centenary celebration to remember in Ossett

Last week, residents and colleagues at our Croftlands independent living scheme in Ossett came together to celebrate a truly special milestone: Marjorie’s 100th birthday!

Colleagues joined the celebrations with a cake, flowers, a bottle of rosé and, of course, a visit from Scout. It was everything Marjorie loves and the perfect recipe for a long, happy life.

Residents enjoyed looking through Marjorie’s birthday card from the King and shared cake, coffee and even a cheeky tipple (for customers only!) before her big family celebration at the weekend.

Marjorie said: “The day meant everything to me. It’s the nicest day I’ve had while living at Croftlands. It was so lovely how family, friends, residents and staff all joined in and made the day so special and unforgettable for me. Roll on next year!”

Her friend George agreed: “Everything was amazing from start to finish. We’ve been drinking champagne and eating cake for four days and the atmosphere has been fantastic. It was such a lovely celebration. We can’t wait for the next one.”

Marjorie’s daughter, Jill, also sent a heartfelt message of thanks to the team: “I want to say a massive thank you on behalf of Mum for the gifts last week. The flowers are beautiful, she was overwhelmed by everyone’s kindness and has had a lovely few days.

“Please pass on our thanks to the staff at Croftlands who couldn’t have done more to help on the day. Even though most of them weren’t on duty and were actually our guests, they couldn’t do enough to help us.”
