Our regeneration work at Tombridge Crescent stands as a powerful example of this commitment. Over seven years, we partnered closely with you and your neighbours to enhance the look, safety, and quality of homes and public spaces.
With an investment of £4.5 million, we:
- Refurbished 199 existing homes
- Built 27 new homes
- Transformed the neighbourhood into a more welcoming and vibrant community for families across West Yorkshire.
What’s changed?

Home improvements
We introduced new roofing, insulation, secure fencing, garden gates, and resurfaced paths, improving appearance, functionality, and quality.
New homes
We delivered 27 modern homes that now offer high-quality living spaces designed around your needs.
Safer streets
We resurfaced footpaths and created off-road parking, making the area safer and more accessible.
Community spaces
We refreshed public areas to encourage connection and everyday enjoyment.

Since 2018, our Customer Insight Team has actively engaged with customers to understand your experiences, priorities, and aspirations.
Your feedback has shaped every stage of the project.
Initial consultation highlights (2018):

- 68% said they were happy and planned to stay
- Top likes: Friendly neighbours, quiet surroundings, private gardens
- Top concerns: Crime, anti-social behaviour, neglected homes, and cleanliness
These insights guided our focus on safety, community wellbeing, and long-term quality improvements.
Progress and impact
Your feedback has been central to the success of the Tombridge Crescent regeneration. Over the years, we’ve seen steady improvement in how you feel about their homes and community.
Back in 2018, when we first started talking about regeneration, 80% of residents told us they felt happy. Today, that number has grown to 89% overall and 100% for those in our brand-new homes.
We’ve worked hard to make improvements that matter to you. On average, customers rated these changes 7.9 out of 10, and we’re still listening to make things even better.
Feeling safe is just as important as feeling at home. Now, every resident feels safe during the day, and 86% feel safe at night in the latest phases.
Most importantly, nearly everyone says their home meets their needs, 100% in our newly built homes. That’s what this project is all about: creating homes and communities that work for you.
Challenges we’ve tackled
The journey hasn’t been without challenges. Issues such as littering, dog fouling, and occasional anti-social behaviour have required ongoing attention.
We’ve worked collaboratively with residents and local partners to identify solutions and maintain the area’s positive momentum.
