At Vico Homes, we’re proud to create great places to live and work—and that starts with our people. We’re looking for an Assistant Payroll Manager to help lead and deliver a high-quality, customer-focused payroll and pensions service that our colleagues can rely on.

What you’ll do

In this key role, you’ll support the Payroll Manager to deliver a high-quality, customer-focused payroll and pensions service—ensuring our colleagues are paid accurately, on time, and in line with legislation and best practice.

You’ll manage and develop the payroll team, provide clear advice and guidance to colleagues and managers, and work closely with our pension provider to make sure we meet our responsibilities. 

You’ll seek out opportunities to improve systems and processes so that our service continues to be efficient, effective and focused on our colleagues.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who combines technical payroll expertise with strong leadership skills and a passion for delivering a great service.

You’ll also bring:

  • A qualification at Level 4 or equivalent alongside a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Experience supporting payroll delivery and meeting tight deadlines.
  • The confidence to lead and support a team to deliver great results.
  • Experience of working with HR/Payroll systems.
  • Experience in providing payroll and pension support and guidance on a range of complex issues.
  • Great communication skills and the ability to work with colleagues at all levels.
  • A proactive, organised approach with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
