About the role
Keeping our customers safe is our top priority. The Building Safety and Compliance Team is part of the Property and Building Safety directorate and plays a crucial role in ensuring that all property-related legislative and regulatory requirements are met, and that our customers’ homes are safe.
We are looking for someone to be responsible for property-related compliance across our stock. Leading the Compliance Team to provide assurance to the organisation that compliance requirements are met. We are an ambitious organisation and strive for continuous improvement and best practice.
As the regulatory landscape continues to evolve, you will be joining a fast-paced, exciting working environment, working in a great team who are passionate about Building Safety and Compliance.
As the Compliance Manager your manager will be our Head of Building Safety and Compliance. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area based from our Head Office in Castleford.
As the Compliance Manager you will be responsible for leading the Compliance Team to deliver compliance requirements across all Vico Homes assets. Specifically with regards to regulatory requirements for Asbestos Management, Electrical Safety, Fire Safety, Gas Safety, Lift Safety and Water Safety.
What you’ll do
- Leading a team of three Compliance Officers and a Compliance Surveyor
- Compliance management and evidence-based performance reporting against property compliance-related assessments, inspections and servicing programmes and completion of associated remedial actions
- Preparing and presenting compliance performance reports to various governance groups
- Challenging non-compliance and agreeing improvement actions
- Scrutinising compliance data and evidence, and providing insights through data intelligence
- Ensuring that property compliance-related Policies, Procedures and Management Plans are up to date with the latest requirements and best practice
- Being responsible for the maintenance of compliance-related I.T. systems
- Acting as lead officer for property-related compliance audits
- Establish and develop relationships with peer organisations in the interest of best practice sharing
What we’re looking for
- A qualification at Level 5 of the qualifications and Credit Framework, such as a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Foundation Degree or equivalent along with IOSH Managing Safely Qualification or equivalent and a full valid UK driving
- Experience in managing property-related compliance within a social housing setting
- Strong management skills, with experience of developing a team to meet compliance requirements and deliver high levels of assurance to the organisation
- Excellent knowledge of legislation, regulations and best practice
- A team player who is happy to work as part of a wider team and organisation
