About the role
As the Finance Officer your manager will be our Treasury Team Leader. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area in our Head Office in Castleford.
As the Finance Officer you will be responsible for Vico Homes Current Account, posting all income and expenditure accurately and performing the monthly bank reconciliation and other balance sheet reconciliations. Assisting the Treasury Team Leader to make payments for our growing Development Programme, alongside supplier and payroll payments.
What you’ll do
- Ensure the finance team make timely payment runs to maximise cashflow in line with Vico Homes policies and procedures and contractual agreements
- Carry out high volumes of financial processes which may include but is not limited to invoices, credit notes, sales invoices, direct debits, bank transactions, benefit receipts, all pay receipts and payments over the phone, ensuring compliance with Vico Homes Standing orders, Financial Regulations and UK Prompt Payment Code
- Ensure work undertaken is accurately recorded, with documentation appropriately processed in line with organisational processes and procedures
- Carry out the reconciliation process to ensure liabilities are accounted correctly
- Manage queries and work collaboratively with stakeholders both internal and external to resolve queries/disputes and negotiating payment/credit timescales where applicable
- Process all appropriate month and year end tasks in line with the accounting periods to ensure accurate accounting of expenditure
What we’re looking for
- Relevant Level 2 Qualifications and Credit Framework such as GCSE’s and preferably someone either fully qualified or part qualified at AAT or equivalent accountancy qualification
- Experience in processing payments within a company’s policies and procedures
- Strong communication, good accuracy skills, time management and teamwork skills
- A strong customer-focused approach and great problem-solving skills
