Vico Homes is built on the foundations of WDH. We are looking for a Roofer to join our Planned Maintenance team.
A home is more than four walls and a roof. It should be a safe place. A place to start things. A place of opportunities. A place to grow. A place where you feel you belong.
These are the places we provide for today and for the future. This is what marks us out as one of the leading players in the social housing sector. We have over 32,000 homes across the north of England, home to tens of thousands of people. And people are at the centre of what we do.
Our people are approachable and professional. But we’re not afraid to be optimistic and show our passion for what we do to support our customers. We share a common vision, acting confidently to ensure we remain at the forefront of making it happen.
Together, we’re building better futures and vibrant communities.
About the role
Vico Homes is looking to recruit a Planned Works Roofer to join our Planned Maintenance Team, delivering high-quality roofing and external works across our housing stock. This role is critical in ensuring customers receive safe, compliant, and energy-efficient homes through the delivery of planned roofing renewals and associated works.
Planned Maintenance Team:
Our Planned Maintenance Team delivers high-volume, short-duration construction activity across multiple sites, working collaboratively with in-house teams and subcontractors to deliver safe, efficient, and customer-focused outcomes.
What you’ll do
- Carry out planned roofing works including strip and replacement of pitched (slate and tile) and flat roofing systems (felt, asphalt, single-ply) in domestic and low-rise commercial properties.
- Complete associated roofline and external works, including installation and repair of fascia, soffits, bargeboards, and rainwater goods (gutters and downpipes)
- Undertake structural roofing works, including chimney repairs, rebuilds, and installation of leadwork (flashings, soakers, valleys)
- Install and upgrade loft and rafter insulation systems to meet current thermal performance and energy efficiency standards
- Work safely at height using ladders, scaffolding, and fall protection systems, ensuring full compliance with Working at Height Regulations and safe systems of work
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with CDM Regulations, Building Regulations, and company health and safety procedures
- Work within occupied properties, maintaining a strong customer focus by keeping residents informed, minimising disruption, and maintaining a clean, safe working environment
- Maintain high standards of quality and workmanship, identifying and reporting defects and ensuring right-first-time delivery
- Use mobile technology (PDA/tablet) to record completed works, log materials, and close work orders accurately and in real time.
- Support effective site operations including material handling, coordination with labourers and other trades, and maintaining excellent housekeeping standards
What we’re looking for
We are looking for individuals who want to work for a great organisation, enjoy working outside, not afraid to climb a ladder and want to progress within the construction industry. You need to be an energetic, driven and committed individual who can complete work safely whilst meeting operational and customer service performance targets.
