About the role

As the Technical Planning Officer your manager will be our Assets Planning Manager. You will work 37 hours a week on a permanent basis, working flexibly in the Vico Homes operating area based at our Head Office in Castleford.

As the Technical Planning Officer you will be responsible for supporting the development and delivery of planned investment and cyclical works programmes across our housing portfolio. You will play a key part in ensuring asset data, systems and reporting are accurate and effective, enabling informed decision-making, regulatory compliance and the delivery of evidence-based investment strategies.

It is an exciting time to be joining us and here are some of the initiatives that you will be involved in:

  • Helping to shape our future investment plans as we deliver £184 million of investment through to 2028.
  • Keep our systems updated as we work towards Energy Performance Certification C across our housing stock.
  • Support on the delivery of our annual stock condition programme.

 

What you’ll do
  • Maintain and continuously improve asset management systems and data, ensuring information remains accurate, compliant and fit for operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Support the planning and delivery of future investment, capital works and stock condition programmes by analysing asset information and identifying future priorities.
  • Produce, validate and reconcile asset data and performance reports, investigating anomalies and ensuring a clear audit trail is maintained.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to enhance processes, improve system performance and support the effective management of asset information across the organisation.
  • Ensure asset records are securely maintained, updated and compliant with data protection requirements, whilst supporting wider asset management projects and service improvement initiatives.

 

What we’re looking for
  • A Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in an IT, property related discipline or equivalent, together with experience in housing, asset management or property-related services, including the operation and analysis of large databases and asset management systems.
  • Strong data management, reporting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information, analyse large datasets and present findings clearly using advanced Microsoft Office and database applications. Experience of system or IT product development would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills, able to work independently and as part of a team. You'll demonstrate professional integrity, a commitment to continuous improvement and customer service excellence.
