Property and Building Safety Team

Our Property and Building Safety Team carries out checks on homes – called Stock Condition Surveys - to see how your home meets the Decent Homes Standard.
The survey takes around one hour, and a surveyor will check things like your:
- Kitchen
- Bathroom
- Windows and doors
- Roof and guttering
- Heating and hot water systems
- External areas and building structure
We’ll contact you when we’re in your area. It’s important to let us into your home to carry out the survey - this helps us plan future work and keep your home in good condition. Letting us into your home to inspect it when we ask to is a requirement of your Tenancy Agreement.
Your Project Officer

When improvement works are happening at your home, you’ll be supported by a dedicated Project Officer.
They will:
- Visit you before work starts to explain in detail what will happen and answer any questions you may have.
- Be available throughout the work to check on progress, ensure your home is kept clean and safe, and act as your main point of contact.
- Organise engagement events to ensure you have a platform to ask any questions and share your views.
- Be available at the end of your journey to ensure you’re happy and any issues can be treated as learning opportunities.
- Consider any vulnerabilities, wellbeing and financial support; ensuring your needs are met.
